About Country Care
About Country Care
written by Julie Taylor, a happy parent of 6 years!

Country care Daycare, owned and operated by Juetta and Eugene Potter in
the Quail area of Rockcastle County, is a Licensed Type II Home Daycare.
Since their days of simply babysitting, all the way back in 1996, their motto
has always been “Quality Care with a Mother’s Touch”.

The Potter home and daycare sit on a beautiful farm on Shug Road in the
Brodhead School District.  Children thrive in a safe, clean, country
environment where fun, learning and TLC are abundant.  Parents have
testified “If I can’t be home with my child, this is the next best thing.”

Juetta got into the childcare business in 1996 when she ran an ad in the
Mount Vernon Signal advertising for children to watch in her home.  As
interest grew in her service she progressed through the system and
became licensed, all the while increasing her capacity.  She is currently
licensed for twelve children, and does not want to advance to a Type 1
center, as the personal attention she is able to give the children would be
compromised.  The Potters have decided their ability to provide a smaller
environment with more personalized attention is important!

In January 2006, as both their business and their family expanded, Juetta
moved the daycare into a spacious, modern building.  The daycare
participates in the Stars for Kids Now Program, has proudly achieved a 3
Star Rating in August of 2009.  In order to earn stars, state guidelines have
to be exceeded.  The daycare must go “above and beyond”

In addition to the Potters, the daycare has another employee.  Alecia “Miss
"Penny” Abney who has been with the Potters since 2005, is an invaluable
asset to Country Care.  Her hard work and dedication are second to none!

Country Care Daycare’s normal operating hours are 7 am to 5 pm, but they
are always happy to review a family’s childcare needs on an individual
basis.  Special arrangements can be made when the need arises.
Services are also available for before and after school care.  Country Care
welcomes state child care assistance program.
